Privacy policy
Last Updated: 11/4-2026
Welcome to PARGO – Parkér godt (“PARGO”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only limited information necessary for operating the service.
Email login
If you choose to log in using your email address, we collect and store your email address for authentication purposes.
Your email address is used solely to allow you to access the service.
Login with social media
You may log in using services such as Google or Apple.
These services allow the third party to authenticate your identity and may share certain information with us, such as your email address, in order to allow you to log in.
Anonymous usage
You may use PARGO without creating an account. When using the app anonymously, we do not collect any personally identifiable information. However, technical data such as approximate location (if you grant permission) is processed locally on your device or transmitted to our servers as described below.
Location data
PARGO uses your device’s GPS to show nearby parking zones, calculate distances, and determine applicable parking rules. Location data is:
- Processed in real time to provide the service (e.g., showing your position on the map, sorting nearby parking zones by distance).
- Transmitted to our servers when you request parking rule information for your current location.
- Not stored beyond what is necessary to fulfill the request, except as described under “User-submitted reviews” and “User-submitted images” below.
You can revoke location access at any time through your device’s settings. Without location access, some features (such as nearby zone sorting and parking rule lookup) will be unavailable.
User-submitted images
If you submit a picture, it may be processed by an AI service to analyze parking-related issues.
Images are transmitted to our servers along with approximate location data (reduced precision) to match signs to local parking rules. We do not store these images after processing and they are automatically deleted from our servers after analysis is complete.
User-submitted reviews
If you submit a parking zone review, we store:
- Your review text and rating
- The parking zone identifier
- An approximate location (reduced to ~1 meter precision)
- Your user identifier (not visible to other users)
Other users can see your review text, rating, and display name. They cannot see your precise location or user identifier.
Profile data
If you create an account, you may optionally set a display name and upload a profile picture (avatar). Your avatar is stored in our cloud infrastructure and is visible to other users alongside your reviews.
Communication with users
If you log in using your email address, we may use your email address to contact you regarding:
- Important information about the PARGO service
- Updates or improvements to the app
- New features
- Requests for feedback about your experience with the service
You may unsubscribe from such communications at any time.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use data strictly for providing and improving our service, including:
- Processing images to help users avoid illegal parking.
- Communicating with users about service updates or improvements.
We do not sell or share your data for advertising purposes.
3. Purpose of processing

- To create and manage your user account
- To communicate with you about your use of PARGO

- Opendata.dk (for open government parking data)
- Google and Apple (for social login authentication)
- Map tile providers (for rendering map visuals in the app)
We ensure that all third-party services process data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Where possible, data is processed within the EU/EEA.
